The Greater Âé¶¹´«Ã½ Creative Health Strategy Launch

With engaging keynote speeches, insightful panel discussions, and moving performances, the GM Creative Health Strategy launch delivered a brilliant showcase for Greater Âé¶¹´«Ã½â€™s future as a creative health city region.

On 2 November 2022, hosted the GM Creative Health Strategy Launch at the Whitworth art gallery, in collaboration with the and GM Person & Community Centred Approaches. The event welcomed creatives and health professionals from across the industries, with speeches and discussions from key speakers, including and , as well as a violin performance from and poetry read by .

The GM Creative Health Strategy is Greater Âé¶¹´«Ã½â€™s ambition to become the first city region in the world to harness the power of creativity, culture, and heritage in addressing health inequities and inequalities. Following research, this engagement with creativity and culture will enable Greater Âé¶¹´«Ã½â€™s residents to lead longer, healthier, and happier lives by improving their wellbeing through ‘creative health.’

The strategy launch event captured the bright future ahead for creative health in Greater Âé¶¹´«Ã½, with Sir Richard Leese, Chair of the GM Integrated Care Board, commenting:

“A culturally rich and creative city region is part of what’s going to foster a healthier city region. There’s real room for creative health to grow and for it to become part of the fabric of our lives.â€

Dr Clive Parkinson, Leading Thinker in Creative Health, also delivered an outstanding keynote speech fuelled with passion and delight, noting the theme of the afternoon and strategy that was ‘people,’ that change comes from the people, and the people are the city.
